Once you submit your application, our talent acquisition team will review your information. If your background aligns with what we’re looking for, we’ll reach out to discuss next steps. Our goal is to provide an update within two weeks of receiving your application but at times, high application volume or role timing may extend that window—but we’re committed to keeping the process as clear and timely as possible.
What to expect
The typical interview process will take 3-4 weeks and include the stages below. After each stage, we’ll share what’s next and the expected timing, so you’re not left guessing.
Our talent acquisition team reviews your application and experience in relation to the role’s requirements.
You’ll have a high-level call with a member of our talent acquisition team. This call typically lasts 30-45 minutes depending on the role. During this time, we’ll:
Learn more about your background and interests.
Share details about CoBank and what success looks like in the role.
Outline the hiring process and anticipated timeline.
Answer your questions so you feel informed from the start.
You’ll speak with the hiring manager for a deeper discussion about the role, team priorities, and how your experience aligns. This conversation is typically held by phone or Teams video and lasts 30-60 minutes.
You'll meet with team members and/or key partners across the organization. During this stage we'll conduct structured interviews designed around role-specific, performance-based questions. All roles require at least one in-person interview. In most cases, candidates are asked to come onsite one time for a consolidated interview experience—typically 2–4 hours in total, depending on the level of the role. We’ll share the interview agenda, location, and parking details in advance so you can plan with confidence.
If we reach the offer stage, your talent advisor will walk you through the details, timeline, and any next steps that may be required such as our background investigation process and pre-boarding actions.
If you have questions during the process, your talent advisor will be your primary point of contact. At each stage, moving forward is based on mutual alignment—your interest in CoBank and the opportunity, and our assessment that the role is a strong fit for your skills and goals. CoBank will never ask candidates to pay fees, purchase equipment, or share banking information as part of the hiring process. If you receive a suspicious message claiming to be from CoBank, please do not respond.
Communication and feedback
We value your time and the effort you invest in the process. We'll communicate outcomes as promptly as possible, and we’ll aim to provide clear next steps throughout the journey. While we’re not always able to offer detailed individual feedback, we are committed to a respectful and transparent experience.
